It's been years since I've seen Nameless. I grew up with the series and was a big fan while I was in high school.

Now that I'm out of college and am in the real world, I was surprised Yotam had created Nameless 7 on one of my random trips to NG.

After years and years of laughing at this awesome series, it still has the same charm, goofiness, and silliness I've enjoyed and laughed at when I was in high school.

In a nutshell, this flash was nostalgic, hilarious, and heartfelt. Thanks Yotam. You've still got it dude!

A wonderful message to our utterly boring friends

I have always been captivated by your style of art and continually intrigued by your vivid selection of music to account for the tone of the piece.

Firstly, your selection of music for this is fantastic. Your art style of an enchanting forest accompanied by a "fairy-talk" folk-esque background music works very well. Your selection of music could easily be distinguished as the icing on the cake.

Your characters are well drawn and more importantly, characterized very well. It is obvious through the voice of Draconius that he is an utterly boring individual, and really needs to have some redeeming value to his life, rather that sit on his ass watching television and jerking off to fairy bestiality pornography for the seventh time today. Gigantor is a very well placed character with a great voice to accompany. I do enjoy his blunt and pushy attitude that can easily be seen through his facial expressions and inflection in voice.

The background is very minimal, but it seems that it was intended to be minimal, as the focus of the cartoon is a response to our boring friends and family consistently talking about their boring lives doing everyday tasks. It's not everyday we see our good friends fighting jade monkey dragons or impaling themselves with their heads.

The humor is fantastic. I really enjoy the blunt and straightforward sense you went for. It really helps with the characterization of Gigantor and Draconius through things that you and I have experienced (the friend who is a boring dickweed that has nothing interesting to say, even when we try and throw them a bone and make them seem more interesting than they really are.)

The overall message is one that I believe people should be spreading. Just because someone has a mouth doesn't mean they should talk all the time. I have recently seen a "friend," of mine on Facebook that posted a status of ,"should I go with the song lyric status, or what I'm doing right now with sitting at the computer? What am I going to do?" When I see this now, I want to erase said people from society, and your cartoon is a prime example of how people really don't need to hear how boring you are, because life itself is dull and repetitive. Whoop-de-freakin' do. I posted the link to this cartoon in response to her crap of the minute status and now she hates me more than ever.

I am glad you have created this wonderful message in a colorful and humorous fashion. I will be definitely recommending this cartoon to all my friends, as I continue to lose facebook friends, I can say, "Thank you," for helping me push your message across to all the morons that continue to believe their lives are the least bit interesting when they get a meatball sub from subway with an extra meatball.

Great work again, I enjoy all your flash works, and I try to stay away from the, "[insert quote from the movie here]" or "Dat wuz awsum mayke moar plz." review.

JohnnyUtah responds:

heh.

thanks for the review. lets alienate ourselves from society TOGETHER. they're not worth our time.

On the Contrary Side

I actually thought that this was a pretty funny cartoon. I actually laughed a lot! The short lived characters are actually quite humorous, especially Ken and Immune Ian. I guess the "funniness" is more of an opinion rather than a statistic. The graphics were great and the animation was sleek as an F-51. Good work with the animation, however the sound was a bit cackly here and there, especially with Immune Ian.

Oggy-cheese responds:

Thanks, finally someone reviewing the graphics and animation! thanks a lot!

I Get it!

This game is just really really funny. Thanks for giving me a good laugh. All these reviews of "THE POP UPS SUCK! I'M ANNOYED!" make me giggle more. The pop ups are supposed to be annoying! It's a joke!

Very original and creative idea. Love it!

Awesome!

Being of asian descent, I can see a lot of asian-americans getting offended from the intro and even the title of the game being offenive.

However, I'm not one of those people. Frankly, I think it's pretty damn funny. Great work Swain, the game is great. It feels like a real challenge and the characters within the game were pretty funny. I was amused the entire time. Great stuff!

Fantastic, with a Charming Artistic Style

This is a absolutely fantastic work of art. Your style of animation is absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed playing this game. It was very charming, had a story that was very tangible to the fairy tale we all know, and professionally presented. I would give this a 10/10, but as with any work of art, there is always room for improvement. As of now, I can't see anything I dislike about the game, but it was really great to play. I am looking forward to the next installment in the series.

Good Stuff!

My deepest and sincerest condolences for your father. Good work with Reason also, tough program to use (for me at least)

I really like the development this piece has. The melody is very catchy. It takes a lot of talent to write melodies that stick out in someone's ear. I can definitely tell you engraved your soul into this piece. Great work, looking forward to hearing more of your works.

durn responds:

Thanks for the kind words, Kezkae. :) Reason's definitely got quite the learning curve to it but can become quite a powerful tool once you get the hang of it. :)

Good, but misclassified

Hey man, good stuff! I like the laid back feel of this and the nice chilled feel, however I do have one complaint.

This music is NOT JAZZ, so do not classify it as jazz. I'm really apalled to see that the world sees something like this as jazz. I'm not trying to say you suck, but that this is more elevator music or lounge music. NOT JAZZ. Jazz follows a blues scale and has swung notes. The saxaphone in this is playing straight 8th notes, not swinging them.

If I were to classify this, I'd say this was a be-bop or a fusion tune. It actually borders on rock and jazz, but it does not exactly fit into either one.

Now on to the positives: You've got a very smooth and flowing feel. Just like your comments it is playful and a bit of sad and happy. Your soloing is well put, I like it. The trumpet solo it's too fanfare-like. Your sax solo is a bit repetitive too. However, i see that this is lounge music, and I respect that . I don't like repetivive, but if it fits the song, then by all means do it!

Good piece of work, I like it a lot. Just re-classify this sucker and I'll be as happy as a volcano.

P.S - I'm a music major and I play Jazz Drumset, forgive me if I was too harsh on your classification of jazz. I'm here to help, not to burn your face off! =-D

Romwell responds:

Hi! Thanks for the detailed review =) I know it's not really jazz, however, there are not enough choices in the classification list. Well,I'll try to submit a 'truer' jazz in the future to restore karma =) Thanks again for the great review; NG should really allow entering custom genres.

Not Bad

I like it. Good energy mix. Just on a side note, the break at 2:07 is not a bass break, that's a drum break. High energy with catchy rythems. Good stuff

Ivan-Ether responds:

no it's definitly bass... I made the song.
